REACH 2.0 helped WCI’s ALWANE (Active Leaders for Women’s Advancement in the Near East) program to hold its first ever Regional Summit on November 11-12, 2012 in Amman, Jordan; covering their online events comprehensively!
The Summit brought together more than 150 men, women, and youth leaders from 16 countries across the Middle East and North Africa region. During the event, REACH 2.0 gave Alwane a comprehensive training on the best practices for the social media platforms. We also live tweeted the event and had the summit transmitted live on Facebook
ALWANE membership is comprised of political, economic, and civil society leaders, academics, activists, experts and youth committed to social progress, gender equality, and the advancement of women’s leadership in the MENA region.
Working at both national and regional levels, this network of 16 countries aimed to generate public discourse about challenges to women’s full participation in society and share intra-regional success stories. WCI’s program builds the capacity of ALWANE coalition members to advocate for the most pressing obstacles to women’s leadership in their countries and work with policy makers to enact wide-scale change
